Education and Appointments

Dr. Zhuang Ping is the associate Professor of South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Science. She received her doctorate in environmental science from Sun Yat-sen University In 2007. She was a senior visiting scholar at Cornell University in 2012 and National University of Ireland (Galway) in 2016.

Dr. Zhuang’s research interests focus on the bioavailability of toxic metals in soils to crops, animals, and humans, considering all of the properties of soils that modify this bioavailability. Ultimately, these researches have several goals, protecting food crops from toxic metal contaminants, minimizing heavy metals uptake, and developing methods for testing and remediating contaminated soils. Dr. Zhuang has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including 28 SCI papers by the first or corresponding author. The total number of citations more than 3000, and two papers were selected into ESI high cited papers, of which the highest number of citations of one of papers exceed 850. H-index is 23. She won the second prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020.
